Cry me a River!

I’m sorry America, but the party is over. It’s time to wake up and open your eyes to the real world. And if you feel like crying, please don’t cry in front of me. And if you feel like bitching, please don’t bitch in front of me. I simply don’t want see you cry or listen to you bitch. Don’t complain to me when the (free market) raises the price of gas three times in one day. Don’t complain to me when it takes sixty dollars to fill the tank of your SUV. I just don’t want to hear it. As far as I am concerned, you are getting exactly what you deserve. For all of you who voted for Bush, you deserve this the most. Ask your oilman president to help your lame ass fill up that big tank. For all of you who didn’t think it was important to vote, you deserve this too. Ask the losers in your car pool how to get registered to vote. And finally, for all of you who voted against the Bush madness, but didn’t have the (time) to help with the fight, you deserve this as well. Ask yourself what was more important now? I’m sorry America, cry me a river if you like, but don’t expect me to care.

Iraqi Occupation: The Cognitive Fall-Out

Cognition is the mental process of knowing, including aspects such as awareness, perception, reasoning, and judgment. Millions of Americans have had this process shaped by the lies of the GOP propaganda machine. Lies and misinformation have been imbedded in their cognitive processes by emotionally based associations. Human beings in general seem to be susceptible to the lies and misinformation of skilled propagandists. As a result of this susceptibility and the sheer power of the GOP propaganda machine, there has been a mass alteration of cognition. This has resulted in a change in the way millions of people think on a fundamental level.

This fundamental alteration of the cognitive process is only half the battle in the war to change the direction of a nation. The propaganda machine that has been at work in our country has tremendous power. Joseph Goebbels would be in awe of this machine. Goebbles would probably be quick to point out the missing half of this machine. Goebbels said, “The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” The enabling power of a propaganda machine lies with its ability to isolate the propagandized from the truth. Reality cannot be allowed to come crashing in.

Right now, reality is crashing in on the GOP and their right wing surrogates. The truth is slowly working its way into the consciousness of even the most heavily propagandized Americans. Even the people who bought this pack of lies with reckless abandon are starting to raise questions. Struggling middle class families witness unchecked multinationals outsourcing good paying jobs, energy prices spiraling to crippling heights, and sons and daughters coming home in body bags. Even the most faithful are now starting to lose faith. Joseph Goebbels had no such problem. Even as the Allied Forces entered their bombed out cities, Germans still believed in the cause. The German people never found out the truth until it was too late. The GOP obviously neglected to read history or they don’t understand that, “the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

The Miracle in Crawford, Texas

The events that are taking place in Crawford, Texas lead by Cindy Sheehan show how one person can make a difference. She has not only made a difference but she seems to have started a movement. I hope that everyone who has the time and money will join her in Crawford. Only the combined voices of millions will put an end to this war and the administration that started it. MichaelMoore.com has daily updates from Cindy Sheehan. I am including the latest update from The Peaceful Occupation of Crawford:

The Peaceful Occupation of Crawford (Day 25)

It Was the Oil, Stupid

-- a message from Cindy Sheehan, Crawford, TX

"If Zarqawi and bin Laden gain control of Iraq, they would create a new training ground for future terrorist attacks," Bush said. "They'd seize oil fields to fund their ambitions. They could recruit more terrorists by claiming a historic victory over the United States and our coalition."(George Bush, August 30, 2005 in San Diego.)

So it is official, Casey had his blood shed in Iraq for OIL. He died so we could pay over 3.00/gallon for gas. Like I suspected all along, my dear, sweet son: almost 1900 others; and tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis died so the oil fields wouldn't "fall into the hands of terrorists" and so George and his immoral band of greedy robber barons could become wealthier. Like I have said all along: how can these people sleep at night and how can they choke down their food knowing it is purchased off of the flesh and blood of others? We have found our "Noble Cause." And it is OIL. This man and his handlers need to be stopped.
