The 4th Amendment: A good place to start

President Bush, in his recent explanation for his authorization of domestic spying, cited his constitutional authority. I don’t know which constitution he is using, but the United States Constitution seems to be pretty clear on this subject. I don’t recall any part of the constitution that grants the executive branch the right to spy on American citizens. Perhaps the president who doesn’t read, should begin reading again and start with following constitutional amendment.

U.S. Constitution: Fourth Amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

No doubt! And while he's at it, he should also have a read of Article II of the Constitution of the United States. He cites it as permission for his acts. This citation only reinforces your observation that he has not read the Constitution. Nowhere does Article II permit him to spy on American citizens. However, if he had read it, he would've seen that it says, "The President ... shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." Violating the civil rights of thousands of Americans clearly qualifies as grounds for impeachment, so his activities should lead to articles of impeachment coming out of Congress soon.

you damn radicals and your bill of rights ... call yourself an American?! ... but seriously ... I don't think Bush could cite you anything but maybe the 2d amendment and some cracked version of the 1st about religious freedom actually meaning the freedom to blend Christianity heavily into a faith based government ... this executive branch does not seem to believe in the constitution or review of its actions ... for a graphic depiction of nsa review of the domestic spy program see

Hi I am a US citizen, white, and female, and used to be a federal postal worker of 7 and half years. I am also a victim of abuse of process and forum shopping by the abusive, alcoholic ex husband. It has been now two years and 7 months since I have had any contact with my now almost eight year old little girl. I lost my job due to my being under medical care for the trauma that was caused by this man. he has cost me over $250,000 in attorney fees and legal fees, put me in bankruptcy and on hearsay the juvenile court in another jurisdiction gave him custody of my daughter with him owing over $30,000 in child support and medical for my little girl. I had full cuistody of her since she was born and I divorced him for beating me to almost death. He filed twenty two petitions of custody change everytime the Child support office filed a contempt petition against him for non payment of his child suopport. But when we got to court he would pay up the child support ,(even though he was always late paying it and still in arrearage ) they would not charge him with contempt. Now the system is screwing me by my child support and have not changed the amount I am supposed to pay even though I have taken them income tax returns showing the amount of income I made. I just want to see and talk to my little girl. I am not getting any information from the courts pn where i have to file a petition and getting screwed by every attorney I have hired. I am on a limited income now and can't afford to hire another attorney but I want my daughter back if this man is not going to allow her any contact with her mother then why is he the better parent. I complied by all visitation rules to a murderer and man that constantly did not return my daughter from her visitation with him and now he is completely alienating her from me. she didn't want to live with her dad and now is being told a bunch of lies and being told I am evil WHAT CAN I DO TO SAVE MY LITTLE GIRL AND WHO CAN HELPP US IS ALL I WANT IS A STABLE LIFE FOR MY DAUGHTER, My ANGEL and have this man put on supervised vistits for the derogatory remarks he has been telling my daughter about her mother. THIS IS CALLED THE PARENTAL RIGHTS ACT Why can't i get something done about my PARENTAL RIGHTS being violated? Please help me and my daughter.
