Uniting Truth with Justice

The daily downward spiral of presidential poll numbers seems now as predictable as the next sunrise or sunset. No matter what our infamous president does, his approval numbers continue to drop. His handlers continue to push him out on the stage, for yet another round of lies and misinformation. The Rove propaganda machine continues to punch the same buttons, that were once so effective. It’s a situation that is reminiscent of the events that transpired in an underground bunker at the end of World War II. In this bunker resided a leader, isolated and detached, clinging to delusions and false hopes, as the world around him crumbled. His propaganda machine continued to churn out the same time tested lies and misinformation that had always fooled the German people in the past.

The emotionally charged messages of the German propaganda machine that had been so effective in the past, continued to work till the end. Joseph Goebbels knew the importance of information suppression. In 1945, this was relatively easy, given the information technology of the day, to isolate the masses from the truth.

In the year 2006, a global information system makes it virtually impossible to suppress information. It is my hope, that history will record, that it was the power of the Internet that ended the oligarchy that controls the United States. It is also my hope, that the end of this oligarchy will usher in the beginning of a government, by the people and for the people. And finally, I hope it is recorded, that mankind was finally be able to unite truth with justice.

Canary in the Caribbean

The coral reefs of our planet drive the ocean’s ecosystem. The destruction of or the damage to these coral reefs will most likely alter in fundamental ways the diversity of life that we take for granted and depend on. The death of coral reefs could be like the canaries in the coal mines of long ago, signally the impending danger. I wonder if anyone is listening?

Caribbean Coral Suffers Record Death

By SETH BORENSTEIN
AP
WASHINGTON (March 30) - A one-two punch of bleaching from record hot water followed by disease has killed ancient and delicate coral in the biggest loss of reefs scientists have ever seen in Caribbean waters.
Researchers from around the globe are scrambling to figure out the extent of the loss. Early conservative estimates from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands find that about one-third of the coral in official monitoring sites has recently died. Continue reading here

The Project for the American Fascist Century

The Fascist Bush foreign policy is rooted in The Project for the New American Century. The reasons we currently find ourselves the occupiers of Iraq is rooted in the following mission statement that was released in September of 2000.

ESTABLISH FOUR CORE MISSIONS for U.S. military forces:
  • Defend the American homeland;
  • Fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theater wars;
  • Perform the “constabulary” duties associated with shaping the security environment in critical regions;
  • Transform U.S. forces to exploit the “revolution in military affairs;”
To carry out these core missions, we need to provide sufficient force and budgetary allocations.
In particular, the United States must:

MAINTAIN NUCLEAR STRATEGIC SUPERIORITY, basing the U.S. nuclear deterrent upon a global, nuclear net assessment that weighs the full range of current and emerging threats, not merely the U.S.-Russia balance.
RESTORE THE PERSONNEL STRENGTH of today’s force to roughly the levels anticipated in the “Base Force” outlined by the Bush Administration, an increase in active-duty strength from 1.4 million to 1.6 million.
REPOSITION U.S. FORCES to respond to 21st century strategic realities by shifting permanently-based forces to Southeast Europe and Southeast Asia, and by changing naval deployment patterns to reflect growing U.S. strategic concerns in East Asia.

This is all reminiscent of an infamous government in Germany in the late 1930s. An ideology dictated both the foreign and domestic policies. The flawed ideology of The Project for the New American Century has been the playbook for the Bush administrations foreign policy. Is it any wonder why we are in such a mess right now? Was it a good idea to open up a second front with the invasion of Russia during the Second World War? Of course it was not. But that decision, like the decision to invade Iraq, was based on an ideology rather that on a political or military necessity.
