Warm and Fuzzy Bi-partisanship

I wonder about all this talk of bi-partisanship that seems to be repeated almost daily in the corporate media? Suddenly after a major ass kicking at the polls on November 7th, the Republicans are ready to work for the good of the American people. So where has their spirit of bi-partisanship been for the last 12 years? Where has the work of the American people been for the last 12 years?

Many of us on the left are not in the mood for bi-partisanship right now. We are not in mood for forgetting about what has gone on, these last 12 years. Maybe, it’s the millions of good paying jobs that were shipped overseas. Maybe, it’s the growing divide between the rich and poor and the disappearance of the middle class. Maybe, it’s a war that drains our treasury and kills our finest.

Any one of dozens of issues championed by the Republicans and their corporate neo-con sponsors can speak volumes about their intentions and their leadership. We should not trust them for a minute and work with them only when necessary.

I don’t know how to react to anyone, who wants to get warm and fuzzy with the same people, who have been fucking everyone, except the wealthy in American, for 12 years. Perhaps the warm and fuzzy types can get some positive things accomplished, while working in a “bi-partisan” way. I would caution them against taking showers with their newfound friends and if they do, they should try not to drop their soap.
